What Size Safety Sign Do I Need?

The right size depends on how far away people need to read the sign. As a rule of thumb, a sign should be readable from the distance at which the message matters. Bigger hazard and further viewing means a bigger sign.

Rough guide by viewing distance

  • Up to 5 metres: 100 x 150 mm or 150 x 200 mm, good for doors and small rooms
  • 5 to 10 metres: 200 x 300 mm, good for corridors and workshops
  • 10 to 20 metres: 300 x 400 mm, good for warehouses and yards
  • Over 20 metres or site entrances: 400 x 600 mm and larger boards

Every sign here comes in seven sizes from 75 x 100 mm up to 600 x 800 mm, so you can match the sign to the space. Multipacks bring the price per sign down when you need several the same. Start on any product page and the price updates as you choose.

Shop the range: every sign is printed to order in the UK to BS EN ISO 7010, in six materials and seven sizes. Browse all signs or design your own.
